Appointments, Late Policy, and Cancellations

Appointments are a reserved time set aside for you and your family.  Please ensure that you are on time for your appointment, and that your child’s health card is up to date and valid.

If you are running late, we ask that you call and let us know that you are on your way. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we will have to reschedule your appointment. Every effort will be made to see you and your child at the scheduled time, but unexpected delays may occur.

We have a waiting list for new patients and try very hard to minimize last-minute cancellations. To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please call 519-304-8882 at least 48 business hours prior to the appointment.

Same-day and walk-in appointments cannot be accommodated.

A rescheduling fee of up to $75 may apply if you and your child:

·         Fail to cancel 48 hours before your child’s appointment

·         Do not show up to your appointment or are more than 15 minutes late

·         Your child’s health card is not valid

*Our office will call 48 hours prior to your child’s appointment to confirm. Failure to confirm your child’s appointment will result in the appointment being cancelled. *

Uninsured Services

Notes, school letters, and forms are services that are not covered under OHIP. Completion of notes, letters, and forms may be subject to fees.

Respect

Our clinic is committed to providing a work environment in which all patients, family members, staff members, and physicians are treated with respect and dignity. Yelling, swearing, profanity, disrespectful language, threats, and hitting is not tolerated.  Any property damage to medical equipment, computers, etc. caused by your child is your (the parents’) responsibility and we will charge you for the cost of replacing damaged equipment.

Violation of the code of conduct by patients and their family members is grounds for immediate dismissal from the clinic.

We ask that you turn off your cell phones when entering the exam room.

Our office is a scent free environment. Please abstain from wearing perfumes, colognes, and other strong smells.

Teaching

This is a teaching practice for McMaster University medical students and residents. There will be times when you will be seen by learners in clinic, but always under the supervision of the paediatrician. We would greatly appreciate your cooperation and patience.
